I’m Mary Brown, the proud owner of Speedy Tax Preparation & Bookkeeping Service. I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.
From a young age, I knew I was a people person. I enjoyed the fulfillment I got from helping my community in small ways, such as helping my friends with their math homework whenever needed. Over the years, I discovered I had a knack for numbers and translated the gift into a career as a manager of TAXaco, a bookkeeping and financial consulting firm. In early 2003, I was given a chance to purchase the firm I had invested so much time and effort in and seized the opportunity with both hands.
With over twenty years of experience in the bookkeeping and financial management field, first as a manager with TAXaco and then as owner of Speedy Tax Preparation & Bookkeeping Service, I have seen the entire landscape change drastically. For example, when I first started, it was a part of everyday life to routinely visit your local tax office to file your tax returns, now, we have the convenience and responsibility of filing our taxes and viewing our statements from the comfort of our homes at the click of a button.
I count myself blessed to have witnessed these developments and embrace innovations in my field. At the same time, I try to retain beneficial aspects of the old system like personal communication and the security of knowing you are dealing with a person rather than an automated voice on an answering system.
I believe that my philosophy of “do unto others as you would have them do unto you” ensures my customer service is top-notch. My clients receive the most consummate taxation advice and honest financial services on the market. I find it extraordinary rewarding to see the look of amazement and gratitude on the faces of my clients when they see I have legally saved them money, and find it even more gratifying when they recommend me to my next generation of clientele.
As an individual, I believe what sets me apart from my competitors is my commitment to being more like Christ every day. I run my business with love and strive to practice fair, uncompromised bookkeeping and financial service for all. I attribute my success to the loyalty I have experienced in business and the fact that my practice has turned into a family affair with multiple generations of my clients seeking my services over the years.
When I am not at work, I take my downtime seriously. I enjoy knitting, crochet, devotions, and watching television, but I also try and get out and walk whenever possible and actively participate in the Bladenboro Church of God. I believe winning souls for Christ is the ultimate purpose of all Christians and am also involved with cancer charities as it is a cause close to my heart.
